A high-level meeting was held at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Islamabad between H.E. Avazbek Atakhanov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan, and Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation. The discussions focused on the global development and promotion of Tayak Tartaysh—a traditional Kyrgyz sport—as well as the establishment of collaborative platforms to strengthen cultural and sports ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Both dignitaries emphasized the importance of promoting Mas-Wrestling (Tayak Tartaysh) on an international scale. As a traditional Kyrgyz sport that embodies physical strength, skill, and cultural heritage, Mas-Wrestling (Tayak Tartaysh) has the potential to unite athletes worldwide. Nawab Furqan Khan assured Pakistan’s full support in organizing events and competitions to popularize the sport within South Asia and beyond. To enhance bilateral cultural and sports cooperation, it was decided to form the Pak-Kyrgyz Society. This platform will serve as a bridge between the two nations, fostering people-to-people connections, cultural exchange, and sports collaborations. To ensure the effective implementation of joint initiatives, an organizing committee will be formed, comprising members from both countries. This committee will oversee the planning and execution of Mas-Wrestling (Tayak Tartaysh) events, exchange programs, and awareness campaigns to promote traditional sports in both nations. H.E. Avazbek Atakhanov expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote traditional sports and emphasized the importance of partnerships to preserve and celebrate cultural heritage. Nawab Furqan Khan reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Kyrgyz Embassy and relevant stakeholders to achieve these goals.
